Chinese

Chinese Journals

Hello everyone!

This year in Chinese class we've been doing weekly journals. This has helped us on our sentence structure, vocabulary, and Chinese in general. It's a great idea to keep us on track with our vocabulary and other things. We must complete at least 5 sentences in Chinese weekly that describes our week, weekend or simply something that we have in mind. If we complete this task without any mistakes, we get a stamp! By the end of the week, if we have 5 stamps, we get to pick out one Chinese candy. But that's how it was before...now there's a new rule! We need to write our words in characters and not in ping ying (which is when you write in English letters)!  This makes the assignment a lot more challenging. But, it's a great idea because it also helps us remember the characters of each word and not just their ping ying version. By the end of this year, we should be able to recognize a lot more characters and probably write more too! Maybe we will even write all 5 sentences in characters! Can't wait!
