First Time Driving

Hi Everyone!

This past weekend, Giselle and I had our very first driving lesson. We had taken drivers-ed over the summer to help prepare us to drive, but getting behind-the-wheel was a whole new experience! As for our driving styles, Giselle and I are complete opposites. Giselle is very timid and cautious, whereas I enjoy the challenges of driving. Basically, if we were to mash our driving skills together, we would make the perfect driver! Anyways, whenever I was in the backseat of the car that Giselle was driving, I reflected on how driving relates to IB. This may be a very cliche analogy, but the process of driving is a lot like IB. I noticed that Giselle and I both started out very nervous, but as we began to get comfortable with the vehicle and the road we adapted quicker and blended in with other drivers. The lesson I learned from driving in relation to IB is to take things slow, and to not be intimidated by new situations. Also, it is extremely important to never compare yourself to others or feel pressured to perform better just because someone may be more skillful than you. If someone tailgates you while driving or pushes you into maintaining a speed out of your comfort zone, don't give in! Do it your way. 99% of the time, trusting yourself will help you achieve better results. So, what about you guys? Do you know how to drive yet?
